South Sea Island is Fiji’s most popular day cruise island and is an easy 30-minute high-speed catamaran ride with South Sea Cruises from Port Denarau. Being so close to Denarau means you can make the most of the day lazing on the beach, snorkelling, diving and enjoying the many activities on offer. It may be small in size, but there is plenty to keep you entertained with a semi-submersible submarine for underwater viewing, a saltwater swimming pool and the use of all non-motorised water sports equipment such as snorkelling gear, stand up paddleboards and kayaks which are available free of charge. Overnight guests can choose to stay in our 16-bed unisex dorm, 6-bed Girls only dorm, Lodge Room our or in one of the three Beachfront Bures with private outdoor bathrooms.   Discover the underwater world with hours of snorkelling or if you want to stay dry, jump onboard the semi-submersible coral viewer. Make sure you keep an eye out for Nemo! Introductory diving is a particular focus on this island with pretty reef formations and plentiful fish making it a first-time diver's dream. Start in the shallows and then explore the stunning coral gardens and the fish life surrounding the island on a 'Discover Scuba' intro dive. There is also plenty to keep certified divers amused, with several beach dives and a purposefully sunk shipwreck. Diving in this area you can encounter drop-offs and wall dives with lots of hard corals, crystal clear water & large schools of pelagic fish. Although the island is uninhabited, you can still get a taste of Fijian culture with a traditional Meke performance and craft market Monday to Saturday.

The Half Day cruise to South Sea Island is perfect for those who don't have a lot of time to spare but still want a taste of the 'real Fiji'. This fantastic cruise means you'll get to explore one of Fiji's cutest Mamanuca Islands and get into 'island time. As the island is only 30 minutes from Denarau, you'll have time to do many of the activities on the island and meet the friendly Fijians ashore.

Finding Nemo 'Family' Cruise

A fun family day in Fiji! South Sea Island is perfect for families with small children! If you would like to experience a short trip out to South Sea Island to suit the kids, then this is the cruise for you. In just 30 minutes you'll be at South Sea Island where you can spend just under two hours and then be back at Denarau in time for lunch. In the short time on the island, you will still be able to see the stunning underwater world of the Marine Sanctuary that surrounds the island with its colourful coral and magnificent fish life. You don't even have to get wet as we'll take you to view all this in our semi-submersible vessel. You sit beneath the surface viewing the coral and fish through large panoramic windows. Then spend some time ashore relaxing, go kayaking, take a swim in the pool or go snorkelling before heading back to Port Denarau.

Combo Cruise

A fantastic combination cruise exploring the outer Mamanuca Islands and 3 hours spent ashore at South Sea Island. On the Island enjoy great snorkelling and water sports or take the semi-submersible ride to see the spectacular coral and fish life. You'll enjoy a tasty barbecue lunch with a cold Fiji beer or other complimentary drinks. After lunch board South Sea Cruises' high-speed catamaran for your cruise around the beautiful Mamanuca Islands. You'll see many of the islands including Treasure, Beachcomber, Mana, Castaway, Malolo and Likuliku.
